Child and Teen Transportation in Charlotte, NC

Higher Learning Transportation Services (HLTS) is a Charlotte, North Carolina company that provides scheduled transportation exclusively for children and teens ages 7 to 18. Founded in 2017 by Lisa, a Charlotte parent, HLTS drives students anywhere in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County to school, after-school tutoring, sports and extracurricular activities, part-time jobs, and summer camp. All drivers are CPR and First Aid certified, background-checked, and hold clean driving records, and all vehicles are commercially insured and registered in North Carolina. Service runs Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with one-way rides starting at $41.

What does Higher Learning Transportation Services do?

HLTS transports children and teens ages 7 to 18 across Charlotte when parents cannot. We operate as a scheduled, route-based service rather than an on-demand app: families register, we confirm the route, and the same trusted driver handles it on a consistent schedule.

We are not a taxi and not a rideshare. Uber and Lyft prohibit unaccompanied riders under 18. HLTS exists specifically to fill that gap for Charlotte families, with drivers trained on the needs of child passengers.

Who is HLTS for?

  • Working parents whose shift or commute conflicts with school dismissal

  • Families with more than one child in more than one activity

  • Parents of teens with after-school jobs or interviews

  • Single parents without backup drivers

  • Families needing a reliable summer camp route

  • Households with one car, or none

What my clients say...

“From start to finish I received nothing but professional & honesty communication with HLT. I had a shift change on my job, so my transportation for my teenage daughter was limited for her to get to work on time. HLT insured me what they could do to help & went beyond my expectations!! My daughter feels so safe with the driver & most of all at work on time!!! Thanks  Million HLT"
